When you decide what station you want to pick up your vehicle at, you influence the total price of your rental. For example, if you choose an airport branch or downtown branch, the so-called location surcharge will apply to you.
In most cases, the return branch will probably match the pick-up branch. This is not the case if you opt for a one-way rental. Then there is also often an additional one-way fee, the amount of which depends on the distance between the branches, as the vehicle usually needs to be transported back to the pick-up branch.

After you enter your personal data, you will be asked for your payment method . However, keep in mind that there are restrictions on car rentals made without a credit card .
Prepaid rate: If you pay in advance, you benefit from lower rental prices. Please remember, however, that unlike regular reservations, a cancellation fee may apply.
Young driver fee: A young driver fee is charged for drivers under 25 years of age. The amount of the fee depends on the vehicle category you have booked.
Please ensure that you bring the credit/debit card you used to book your reservation and the main driver’s license. An authorization deposit is also due upon pick-up of your rental vehicle. However, this authorization amount will be refunded after 3-5 days when the vehicle is returned.
Also, keep in mind you have the option of booking additional protection packages and extras. Please note, however, that after the rental agreement has been signed, no changes (especially the booking of protection options) can be made.
During your rental you only need to pay for the cost of the fuel that you consume while driving your rental car.
Your rental car will typically be given to you with a full tank of fuel. Please remember to return the vehicle to the station with a full tank or filled to the same level as pick-up to avoid a refueling fee. You can avoid this hassle by prepaying for the fuel. Our prepaid fuel option will also save you time as you don't have to worry about finding a gas station on your way to returning the vehicle.
If you have driven more miles than were included in your rental agreement, the overage will be charged at the SIXT mile price when you return the vehicle.
If you were speeding or parked incorrectly, you are liable for all costs and fees incurred in connection with traffic and administrative offenses. SIXT also charges a lump-sum fee in accordance with the General Terms and Conditions.
If damage has occurred to the vehicle during your rental, you are liable as the renter, unless you are covered by our protection packages. It is best to always rent your vehicle with comprehensive protection without a deductible, so that you avoid high costs if something goes wrong.

When booking you can see the number of miles included with your reservation. Many bookings include unlimited mileage, although things like long-term rentals, sport and luxury vehicles, and limited-mileage reservations are excluded.

If you need an extension over the length of 28 days, this will require a new reservation and rental agreement. Please book your reservation online to prepare.
All rentals are charged based on a 24-hour billing period. Only when a rental exceeds a cycle of 24 hours will any additional daily charge apply. We do allow a 30-minute grace period for your convenience at return. For example, if you picked up at noon on day one and returned at noon on day two you are within the 24-hour billing period and will be charged for one day. However, if you return your vehicle at 1:00 PM, you will be charged an additional day.
